Description

Emergency First Aid + CPR-C/AED (Blended Learning) [OFA 1 Equivalent]

Basic one-day course offering lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.

Blended Learning:
Online* + 4.5 hours of In-Class time.
(*~4 hours. Online learning time will vary heavily depending on the learner. Online Component access will be provided within 48 hours of your registration.)

Completion
Ability to comprehend and successfully demonstrate all required skills, including critical steps;
100% attendance and participation; 75% min. passing grade on a written, closed book knowledge evaluation; and adherence to the Fundamental Principles.

Is there a deadline for registration? 

Yes, there is a registration deadline to ensure timely sign-ups. Please refer to the event details for the specific deadline.

 

How do I know I have successfully registered for the training? 

You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. Please contact Vida First Aid (Email: info@vidafirstaid.live-website.com or Phone: (604) 351-6639) if you have not received it.

 

How do I register for my guest? 

When registering for the training, select “2” for the number of persons on the check-out page to include your guest. Remember, your guest must attend the same session as you.

 

Can I bring more than one guest? 

No, each EA employee is allowed to bring only one guest.

 

Is there any sponsorship from EA? 

No, EA does not provide sponsorship for this voluntary training, but there is a significant discount available for EA employees.

 

Where is the in-class training located? 

The in-class training will be held at either EA Burnaby Site or EA Great Northern Way Site, depending on the training session you select.

 

How long is the training session? 

This is a blended learning course consisting of:

– Online: Approximately 4 hours (time may vary depending on the learner). Online component access will be provided within 48 hours of your registration.

– In-Class: 4.5 hours of in-class time.

 

What happens if I don’t complete the training? 

If you are unable to complete the training, you may reschedule to another first aid training session at Vida’s office.

 

What if there are sick or unforeseen circumstances that prevent me or my guest from attending the in-class training? 

In the event of sickness or unforeseen circumstances, you may reschedule to another first aid training session at Vida’s office.

 

What if I didn’t complete the online training prior to the in-class training? 

If you do not complete the online training prior to the in-class training, you may reschedule to another first aid training session at Vida’s office.

 

What if I fail the test? 

 If you fail the test, you have one chance to retake the test without any extra cost at Vida’s office.

 

Will I receive a certification upon completing the training? 

 Yes, you will receive a certification from the Canadian Red Cross upon successful completion of the training.

 

Will this Basic First Aid training (OFA Level 1) fulfill the up-coming amendments to Part 3 of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulation, relating to the provision of occupational first aid? 

Yes, this basic first aid training (OFA Level 1) will fulfill the amendments to Part 3 of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulation, relating to the provision of occupational first aid.
