Designed to build participant confidence in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills and provide the important steps to perform a rapid assessment, perform Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, and perform rapid defibrillation. Airway Management and Oxygen Therapy can also be added as additional certifications to this course.

In-Class Training:
Slow Pace: 4.0 hours In-Class
Fast Pace: 2.0 hours In-Class*
* Vida First Aid is not responsible for students that are unable to keep up with the Fast Pace. Please sign up for the pace best suited to you. Please reach out to us to receive additional pre-reading before the course.

Prerequisite:
Current (cannot be expired) certification from the 5 National Training Agencies in Canada: Canadian Red Cross, St. John’s Ambulance, Lifesaving Society, Heart & Stoke of Canada, and Canadian Ski Patrol.

Description

Basic Life Support (BLS) *Formerly CPR-HCP (Discontinued in 2019)

Designed to build participant confidence in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills and provide the important steps to perform a rapid assessment, perform Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, and perform rapid defibrillation. In-Class Training:
Normal Pace: 4.0 hours In-Class
Fast Pace: 2.0 hours In-Class

Completion
Successfully demonstrate all course skill competencies; 100% attendance and participation; 75% min. passing grade on a written, closed book knowledge evaluation; and adherence to the Fundamental Principles.
